The United States Parkour Association is seeking an inaugural Executive Director to champion the growth of parkour and our national community! ABOUT USPK

United States Parkour Association (USPK) is the growing national governing body for Parkour. USPK advances the disciplines of Parkour, Freerunning, and L’art du Deplacement through community building events, public advocacy, and the development of professional resources and tools. Our mission is to represent parkour and the related disciplines in the United States by serving the parkour practitioners, professional athletes, business owners, organization leaders, and enthusiasts. We are devoted to elevating the discipline, strengthening our community, and keeping its practitioners safe.

POSITION SUMMARY

The inaugural Executive Director position is an exciting opportunity for an individual to build a better future for parkour. Combining your passion for the parkour community with your leadership and management skills, you’ll help guide our organization to a successful future in partnership with our Board of Directors and committed team of volunteers.

After familiarizing with our current projects and objectives,  the position will mature to include the following responsibilities.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Leadership, Team Management, & Operations

  • Work with existing board members to set objectives and key outcomes for projects and initiatives.
  • Strengthen organizational systems to support long term growth and successful planning, including our volunteer program.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to a remote team of volunteers to ensure goals are met.
  • Provide oversight for special-interest-groups and board committees. 
  • Promote a playful and member-focused culture based on relationship building and compassionate listening.

Financial Oversight

  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set annual budget and strategy to engage community partners and donors.
  • Collaborate with our Marketing Committee to implement strategies for increasing membership enrollment.
  • Oversee the financial health of the organization through managing member dues, event fees, and fundraising.

Membership, Partnerships, & Communications

  • Be the face of USPK and act as primary liaison for media in partnership with our Board Chair.
  • Assist in building a public media outreach strategy.
  • Guide USPK through its sunrise membership onboarding program, running through the end of 2020.
  • Identify and build partnerships with community and business leaders in the discipline.
  • Identify opportunities for USPK to help grow awareness and participation in parkour, including recommending opportunities for USPK to expand its influence and impact.

Ideal Experience

USPK is looking for an experienced leader who is able to organize diverse teams, who has a proven record and passion for driving growth and change within an organization, and has a strong relationship with grassroots communities.

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years in organizational management, non-profit sector a plus.
  • Three or more years of leadership experience, preferably within a sports organization.
  • Passion for diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Ability to occasionally travel across the United States.

Hours

This volunteer position requires 2 to 5 hours a week and will increase as the organization grows. While this starts as a volunteer position, as funds come into the organization this will be the first paid position.
