Parkour – A Safe Sport For All

There are many reasons to practice and train parkour at any level. Parkour encourages a healthy lifestyle centered around safety. Unfortunately, like any sport or other activity, there can be a risk for misconduct and abuse. All forms of misconduct are intolerable and should be actively prevented. 

Every athlete has the right to train and compete safely. The United States Parkour Association (USPK) is committed to protecting, maintaining, and improving the safety of athletes and participants involved in parkour by creating safe and positive environments free of physical, emotional, or sexual misconduct. 

Reporting Misconduct

Any individual may submit a report for alleged violations through the following methods:

Individuals have the option to remain anonymous. There is no cost or fee involved in making a report.

Contact Local Authorities

Immediately report to law enforcement for any allegations of:

In case of any emergency, call 911.

If child abuse is occurring, call 911 immediately if you know or suspect child abuse. Please contact your local authorities if you have any reasonable suspicion that child sexual abuse or neglect has occurred. All reports of child abuse or sexual assault of a minor must also be reported to local authorities. Reports of abuse not involving a minor may also be reported to local authorities.

Reporting Misconduct

Who can report?

Any athlete, coach, staff member, volunteer, or bystander who witnesses or experiences abuse, harassment, or misconduct can report the incident. Reports may also come from parents, guardians, or organization members.

Types of Reportable Incidents

The following types of incidents can be reported through these channels:

  • Physical abuse or violence.
  • Emotional abuse, including bullying or verbal harassment.
  • Sexual abuse or inappropriate behavior.
  • Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected categories.
  • Violations of the United States Parkour Association Member Code of Conduct, including unethical behavior, manipulation, or exploitation.

Confidentiality and Anonymity

Reports will be handled with the utmost confidentiality. The identity of the reporter, the alleged offender, and any witnesses will remain confidential unless required by law. The United States Parkour Association will take every measure to ensure that personal information is protected throughout the reporting and investigation process.

Anonymous Reports: Individuals can submit reports without identifying themselves. However, anonymous reporting may limit the ability to fully investigate the matter.

No Retaliation Policy

The United States Parkour Association strictly prohibits retaliation against individuals who report incidents or participate in investigations. Retaliation will result in disciplinary action.
