Divisions

At our competitions, athletes compete alongside other athletes based on their age and gender known as the athlete’s division. Each group is split down by men’s open and women’s open and sorted by the athlete’s age based on the year of birth.

Division Information

  • Age categories are determined by birth year.
  • Trans and nonbinary athletes participate in one division of their choice for the entirety of the competitive season. See USPK Trans Inclusion Policy.
  • Only athletes who compete in the Adult Division are eligible for the Adults’ National Championship.
  • Junior Athletes are eligible to “punch up” and decide to compete in the Youth Age Division.
  • Youth Athletes are eligible to “punch up” and decide to compete in the Teen Age Division.
  • Teen Athletes that are aged 15th as of January 1st, 2027 may choose to “punch up” and decide to compete in the Adult Open Age Division. Teen Athletes ages 13 and 14th may not punch up.
  • Masters Athletes are restricted to the Masters Age Division.

Pricing

Pricing is standardized across each Qualifier, with discounts for pre-sale and bundle options if competing in multiple categories at an event (SPEED, SKILL, STYLE).
