2026 Competition Circuit Finances and Survey Results

Hello USPK Community! With the 2026 season wrapped up, we wanted to communicate with everyone how the competition season was financed, where money was spent/allocated, and how we are preparing for next year.

Through registration, $120,104 of revenue was generated, of which nearly 70% went directly back to gyms! As part of our total revenue, we were also able to provide our first ever scholarships to athletes to attend Nationals and our National Youth Camp.

Not only that, more than $36k in prizes were provided to athletes with help from sponsors, including but not limited to: Wegmans, Vital Protein, Ascent Protein, Vrypac, and Friction Labs.

And a big thank you to our first ever Gold Level sponsor, Vibracool, whose products and support brought this season to the next level.

While the season revenue did finish in the red with -$2,108, this is largely reflected in the investment of signage for our regions that is set to last for future seasons.

Thank you to everyone who filled out the 2026 USPK National Survey! We strive to improve each year and your suggestions are how you shape the competition circuit. Here are some of the suggestions that stand out from this year:

Mandate firm age divisions structure and adherence. Athlete age divisions will need to be more firm in future years to not discourage older athletes from participating. Just as well, Masters should be 35+ and not 40+.

Improve communications. Instagram can be one way athletes get information, but newsletters and blog posts should be posted with more regularity to ensure information is getting shared as widely as possible.

Set standardized skill, speed, and style competition formats that will be mandatory for host gyms to adhere to for future seasons.

Support gyms with preparation for skill events. This is the most time intensive event to prepare for and requires a large amount of effort for hosts.

Dedicate efforts to ensuring competitions have qualified style judges. Judging for style continues to be the most subjective, and as such, the most confusing for athletes, parents, and hosts.

Improve our website’s navigation so people can ensure they are up to date.
