UNITED STATES PARKOUR ASSOCIATION

Announcing Regional Competition Circuits

2023 February 16th

– – –
The United States Parkour Association (USPK), the US parkour governing body, will see the introduction of regional leagues and circuits to subdivide the United States region. The division will see six separate regions to provide a clear pathway for parkour athletes to compete more regularly.

The USPK Regional Circuits will form tiers for athlete development within their regional frameworks. This year will see the introduction of six regional leagues:

  • Midwest
  • Mountain West
  • North East
  • South East
  • South West
  • West Coast

These individual regions will run multi-event competitions throughout the earlier half of 2023 and eventually crown a champion through a regular competition season. This grassroots level of competition will give competitors the chance to experience organized competition at the local level.

USPK is teaming up with the West Coast Parkour Championship (WCPKC) and Southest Parkour Championship (SEPKC) for a unique partnership to provide regional programming. In January 2023, WCPKC kicked off their competition circuit at the Freedom of Motion (Murrieta, CA) with upcoming events at Sessions (San Jose, CA), Dynasty Fitness (Issaquah, WA), and Collective Movements (Riverside, CA); West Coast regional finals will be held at Firestorm Freerunning (Moreno Valley, CA) on June 24th. The Southeast Parkour Championship (SEPKC) will field its season this coming March through Atlanta Parkour (Atlanta, GA), Georgia Parkour Academy (Peachtree City, GA), and Enso Movement (Raleigh, NC); with finals held at Urban youth Park (Ponte Vedra, FL) on June 17th. Additional announcements for competitive events will soon be released.
Youth, teen, and adult divisions will take place as part of the national sport parkour circuit. Many events will include speed, skill, and style over a weekend with several opportunities to participate over the competition season. Alan Tran says, “The organization of competitive parkour events is an exciting opportunity to grow the sport through increased exposure and accessibility, and to have more athletes practicing parkour across the US.”

In addition to the regional leagues and circuits, the USPK Board of Directors is further developing support by advancing on an Athletes’ Advisory Committee and a Judges Committee. Any individuals interested in learning more can reach out to alan@uspk.org.
